Multiple Visions. One City is a project developed by a group of young professionals following a master course in Arts Management at the Istituto Europeo di Design, Roma.

All coming from different countries, we have various backgrounds and points of view. We are adapting to the diversity of Rome, as we need to learn to understand it better. As foreigners, we bring a fresh outlook to the city. We believe Rome is changing us but at the same time, we might create something, even very little for this city.

We are curious about other people’s perception of Rome, how others perceive its identity physically and mentally. With this project, we aim to give space to emerging artists to show their vision of Rome and promote them by exhibiting and circulating their work among our international network.

"Chaos feeling framed in blur, filtered with history and arts. The pavement corner for a hobo in the suburbs. Shopping roof for the fashion divas in the center. Steps to rest on for the tourists at Spagna.  A place to taste the best coffee for mankind. A view for a cheerful sunset at Capitoline Hill. Transportation torture every rush hour. That’s R(h)ome!"

Ceren  (Istanbul / Turkey)

"I've been in Roma since 2012, the feeling  to the eternal city is exactly like the film La Grande Bellezza: there are so many beautiful things to be appreciated, you are so touched by the human heritage! But meanwhile I can see there is something wrong, people are suffering  from it. I hope Roma will be a better city!"

Qiaoying (Wenzhou / China)

"Living in Rome has been a challenging experience. In one hand this is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, full of monuments, living history and, as is was on the past, host a very large range of diverse cultures. On the other hand, been a foreing in this huge city can be a bit overwhelming because not all the roads really leads to Rome."

Claudia (Santiago / Chile)

"The Roman leftovers overwhelmed me at first, but there was no discourse between them and me. Once I understood that Rome is in the great confusion, I started to enjoy my relationships with the current Romans – whoever, whatever compose the great confusion. Roma is always there with great smiles and laughter and changing with great confusion, so am I."

Emi (Nagoya / Japan)

"The vision of Rome through my senses is an exuberant kaleidoscope of colours and shapes, sounds and voices, smells and flavours... I often ask: "What is Rome?", and finding the answer is a journey in which my mind stays open to experience the different slices of life manifested by the diversity of its citizens. What's your answer?"

Bao Chau (Saigon / Vietnam)

"Rome has excellent historical buildings. It is packed with things to see and full of surprises!"

Kunit (Bangkok / Thailand)

"High heels clacking, horns honking, bells ringing, vendors arguing as colorfully as their produce, children playing in fountains, locals dancing through traffic, international tongues and Italian dialects, rowdy tourists, awe-struck students and hushed clergy; echoes of the past and glimpses into the future. Startling, jarring and melancholy (sometimes all at once), but yet always comforting in its sounds, the Eternal City will go on long after I leave it."

Allison (United States)

"I think Rome is a sense of history and culture. Rome is very strong city; we can find all kinds of stories from every corner of the city. To one thousand, the Rome has left us a lot of wealth, both natural and cultural heritage. At least for me , Rome is a solemn and everyone need to respect it."

Shuyi (Hangzhou / China)

"To me Rome is all about its light…  a "je ne sais quoi" that gives to the labyrinth of streets and alleys, to the so special courtyards, the piazzas, and monuments the very particular atmosphere of Rome that I like so much."

Celine (Geneva / Switzerland)

"I arrived in Rome expecting a certain city atmosphere to affect me. Turned out, there is no special Roman atmosphere that we see in movies, it's a chaotic mixture of everything. You can't have it all at once. One should create his own atmosphere here by activating certain physical senses. That is to say, find the organ of the body that interests you, examine it and try giving it a treatment."

Ekaterina (Voronezh / Russia)

"I came, I saw, I conquered, I lived my life once in Rome."

Mednoon (Bangkok / Thailand)

"Rome has two faces: it's like a hurricane, imposing, where everything is overflowing with the power of the past so devastating; but at the same time it has an atmosphere of absolute calm, just like inside a hurricane. This is particularly noticeable in the evening in the area of Ancient Rome, where everything becomes magical! It is also hectic and chaotic, full of people who live only for a day (like any self-respecting capital), but also incredibly slow, made of that listlessness typically Roman!!!"

Leonardo (Prato / Italy)

"During the day Rome is a mass of tourists that move frantically hoping to capture in their short stay all the beauty that the city has. But is in the evening when the tourists come back to their hotels that you can see the beauty and atmosphere of the city, the lit ruins  sprouting here and there, proud baroque palaces  adorn the squares. During the day the body is tight in the public transportations always late, never enough and always crowded, in the evening the body relaxes finally ready to feel the atmosphere of the Eternal City."

Ambra (Florence / Italy)

"A mix of different colors, passions, and luxury, amazing architecture and atmosphere."

Xuwei (Shanghai / China)
