Lucia Bricco is an installation artist born in Turin. Trained at the Accademia Albertina in Turin and at the Academia Complutense in Madrid, she is currently finishing her specialization in Rome. She expresses her artistic ideas through scenography using different media such as installation, performance, video, and sound. Her works have received numerous prizes in different countries. She took part in major international exhibitions and workshops, and participated in the Biennale di Istanbul Evento Parallelo.

Lucia’s work focuses on the notion of the body in movement. Highlighting the action required by the body in order to move, she codifies measures of time, space, and energy that she then amplifies and distorts. She uses various types of electrical circuits to represent the interaction between bodies and electric movements.

Her perception of Rome is expressed in the installation Scar (2014) that combines a screen and handmade paper where an electric circuit has been integrated. Bodies in movement interact and align along the lines of the electric wires that draw a scar. The human shapes become the sutures and cavities of “… the scar that Rome has engraved on my arm and life after a road accident”. Lucia expresses how the city as a whole impacts one’s life and how it leaves its marks, translating every experience.

MULTIPLE VISIONS.
ONE CITY.

PERCEPTION OF ROME THROUGH THE BODY' SENSES
